(Charlottesville, VA – September 23, 2016) Jane Dittmar’s congressional campaign today was designated as a “Red-to-Blue” race by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC).
The Dittmar campaign is now one of only 43 nationally targeted House of Representatives races.
“House Democrats are on offense and will pick up seats in November, and these talented and diverse candidates are the foundation of our success,” said DCCC Chair Ben Ray Luján.
“My team and I are thrilled to receive this Red-to-Blue designation from the DCCC,” Jane Dittmar said. “We have known all along that this race was winnable, and it is inspiring to see national groups agree that we can take back the 5th in November. I’m honored to represent the people of our district as the Democratic candidate, and I look forward to working hard for our families when I am in Congress.”
Luján commended the candidates for their campaign teams, their field game, and their strong engagement with supporters and voters in their districts.
“The American people deserve a House of Representatives that fights for progress and prosperity, not obstruction,” he said.
