2015-16 Reorganization

Pursuant to Section 8.1 of the DPVA Party Plan, a Democratic Committee shall be elected for each county and city by the Democratic voters during the period between December 1st in odd numbered years and the 15th of the following January. City and County Democratic Committees must determine the date of their reorganization meeting and communicate that information to the State Party by November 15th of each odd numbered year.

The following committees have announced their Caucuses for the purpose of the election of such committees:

The Franklin County Democratic Committee will hold its reorganization meeting on Thursday, December 10 @ 7PM. The doors will open at 6 PM for registration. The meeting will be held at the Franklin County Dems Office at 527 S. Main Street in Rocky Mount.

The Madison County Democratic Committee will hold its reorganization meeting on Sunday, January 17, 2016 @ 4PM (doors @ 3:30). in the upstairs meeting room (Extension Office) of the War Memorial Building at 2 South Main Street, Madison VA 22727. We will complete our slate of officers and updated by-laws at our Dec. 12 meeting, and vote on those immediately following the election of committee members on Jan. 17th. A social will follow the conclusion of the elections.

The Prince Edward County Democratic Committee will hold its reorganization meeting on January 6, 2016 @ 6:00PM. at the Prince Edward County Resources and Agriculture Building, 100 Industrial Road, Farmville VA 23901. The election of officers will occur at this time.

The Fluvanna County Democratic Committee will hold its reorganization meeting on Saturday, January 9 @ 10:30AM. at the Fluvanna Library, 214 Commons Blvd, Palmyra, 22963

The Albemarle County Democratic Committee will hold its reorganization meeting on January 25 @ 6PM.

The Mecklenburg County Democratic Committee will hold its reorganization meeting on Saturday, December 19 @ 10AM. at the Mecklenburg Senior Citizens Center, 411 king St, South Hill VA, 23970

The Charlottesville Democratic Committee will hold its reorganization meeting on Wednesday, December 9, 2015. Registration opens @ 6:45PM,, mass meeting begins @ 7:15PM. at CitySpace, 100 5th Street NE (in the Market Street Parking Garage building).

The Danville Democratic Committee will reorganize Saturday, January 9, 2016 at the Danville Regional Airport @ 10:00AM (doors to open at 9:30AM). The newly organized committee will meet immediately following the reorganizational caucus in order to elect officers for 2016-2017.

The Bedford Democratic Committee announces its reorganization caucus for Monday, January 11, 2016, @ 7:00PM (doors @ 6:00PM), in the Bedford Room of the Bedford Public Library, 321 N. Bridge St., Bedford. To receive a membership pre-filing form please contact Ann Duncan at 540-816-0828 or at abduncan67@gmail.com. The completed form and a voluntary $10 annual fee need to be returned to Ann Duncan before 6:59PM. on Monday, January 11.

The Mecklenburg County Democratic Committee announces a Call to Caucus for the purpose of reorganizing its Committee on Saturday January 9, 2016 at Mecklenburg Senior Citizens Center, 411 King St, South Hill VA 23970. Doors @ 9:00AM, Caucus will begin promptly @ 10:15AM. Any person attending the caucus who wants to participate in the Caucus, shall sign a standardized Caucus Participation Form stating that: he or she is a Democrat; does not intend to support any candidate who is opposed to a Democratic nominee in the ensuing general election; believes in the principles of the Democratic Party, and is a registered voter in Mecklenburg County, VA. A meeting of the newly elected officers for the 2016-2017 term will be held following the conclusion of the Caucus.

The Appomattox County Democratic Committee (ACDC) is conducting their “Reorganization Meeting” on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, at 6:30pm in the Carver-Price Legacy Museum, 102 Carver Lane, Appomattox, Va. 24522.
